Since I published my first book back in 2012, things on the Internet have changed. Just found out that my books were listed on Goodreads under a different “Bart King”, so in the process to get all this social stuff sorted out. 📝
Stark reminder today that filesystems are still slow, even with all these modern SSDs. Caching algorithm with 2000+ files = over 1.5 minutes to read/write. Same data placed in one file = 6 seconds to r/w. They were slow 20 years ago and they still are! 💻
